I stand in a courtyard of stone, great white pillars all around. Flowers twine over the pillars and the statues, bathing all in their sweet fragrance.
Always is the sound of water falling, cascading; fountains dot the garden, sending jets of iridescent spray up into the clear air. Their music is constant, and it soothes my weary soul.
All around me is peace and serenity, punctuated only by the waterflow, and by the twittering of many jewel-bright birds which perch in the branches of the many trees.
I sit down upon a bench, and drink in the quiet and solitude. All is serene bliss.
Of a sudden, the great doors to the Imperial Palace open, and a clarion call issues forth! he approaches, the Lord of All! I leap up from my seat, at once breathless and trembling with suppressed excitement. My Father draws nigh!
A soft swish of silken robes, and he is there, kneeling beside me. I gaze up at him enraptured. He is tall, nearly half again as tall as a mortal human man. He wears the robes of his kingly office, all of silks, velvets and satins. His hair is the pale gold of a sunrise, and his eyes are the quiet, serene blue of deep, forgotten oceans. Upon his head, he wears the ancient diadem of the serpent, depicting his royal lineage. In his hand, is the lapis lazuli rod of ruling, the great sceptre of his eternal office. Unable to help myself, I drop to my knees and bow low before him.
He smiles then, and it is as if the sun itself has risen. "No, my daughter," he murmurs, and raises me up by the hand. "Bend not your knee before me, like some common slave! You are my daughter, of the serpent blood, and you are an empress in your own right! So stand proud, beside me!" And so I stand, arm in arm with Satan, my Father and my Lord, and we turn, and go forth into his great palace. It is there that I shall dwell for al of eternity, and beyond. I shall rest in the house of my Father.
